Mori Building has completed its redevelopment of Toranomon Hills with the opening of Glass Rock, a new facility revealed to the media on April 7 and open to the public from April 9.

The launch marks the culmination of a ¥700 billion ($4.6 billion) urban transformation after nearly 10 years of construction.

Glass Rock is a mid-size facility spanning three basement and four above-ground levels, covering 8,800 square meters. Connected to the subway, it links Mori Tower and Station Tower-two key buildings in the complex-and improves pedestrian access across the district.

“This will be a key facility that enhances the walkability and integration of the area,” said Shinji Takeda, head of Mori Building’s New Urban Development Division.

At its core, Glass Rock houses a two-floor, members-only space designed to encourage cross-sector collaboration. Features include open lounges, a bar, and exhibition space.

Memberships target government agencies, corporations, and nonprofits:

  • ¥330,000/month for companies

  • ¥11,000/month for individuals

Mori will offer events, expert-led programs, and networking support, aiming for 100 companies and 1,000 users. Early members include NEC and a major food manufacturer.

Toranomon Hills differentiates itself from Roppongi’s cultural focus and Azabudai’s luxury housing by prioritizing business. With 300,000 square meters of office space-the largest in the “Hills” series-it benefits from proximity to Kasumigaseki and foreign firms in Akasaka and Roppongi.

The complex is nearly fully leased, with about 30,000 workers. Mori’s overall vacancy rate remains below the central Tokyo average.
